I’m excited to be one of the ‘competitors’ in the next Lizard Lounge Open Mic Main Event on Saturday March 14th – where past winners of the regular Monday night challenge go head to head for the chance to win $500 and recording studio time. It’s going to be a great night of music. So come cheer me on! Get advanced tickets here. It tends to sell out.
I wrote this song back in October (2018) as Hurricane Michael was landing on the Gulf Coast of Florida and just a short time after Hurricane Florence devastated much of North & South Carolina.
It was recorded at Hollow Body Studios with Doug Kwartler producing, engineering and playing all of the various instruments you hear in support of my lead guitar played on a new nylon string guitar built by Alan Carruth.
I hope you enjoy it.
I’m not a big fan of artistic competition, but I did throw my hat in the ring this year for the Woody Gutherie Folk Festival’s Songwriting Competition. And I’m thrilled to say that my song Nostalgia from the new record received an Honorable Mention. Thanks, Woody Folks for your careful listen.
